Aston Martin are a team to watch at the first race of the season this weekend in Bahrain after their impressive pace at pre-season testing.
Aston Martin haven't shown great pace the last few years with the pairing of Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll. However, this season at the pre-season test in Bahrain last week, Aston Martin showed impressive race and single-lap pace.
Fernando Alonso has claimed, "On the last day we did a race simulation. At the same time, Ferrari also did the same program and we were slightly faster".
Could this mean Aston Martin could be competitive in Bahrain at the first race? Yes it could and Toto Wolff has also claimed he thinks the team could be the second fastest on the grid.
Aston Martin is also a team to watch as the team have chosen Felipe Drugovich to replace injured Lance Stroll (if he is deemed unfit by the team) after the Canadian was involved in a cycling accident a few days before pre-season testing.
