British GP Review

A race won by Verstappen but not easily to start with, surprise pace from McLaren and Williams, Ferrari’s circus returns and Sergio Perez recovers from yet another poor qualifying.

Max Verstappen wins again!

Max Verstappen qualified on pole but only just ahead of Lando Norris in the McLaren. It wasn’t an easy start to the race for the dominant Red Bull driver as Norris bettered his start and took the lead. However, it wasn’t long before Verstappen re-overtook Lando and kept the lead to win.

McLaren’s surprise pace

McLaren surprised everyone in qualifying as they lined up 2nd and 3rd for the race on Sunday with Norris 2nd and Piastri 3rd. At the start of the race, the British crowd erupted as Lando Norris took the lead and Piastri even challenged Verstappen to attempt to put the 2 McLaren’s 1 and 2 but this failed.

Norris quickly dropped back down to 2nd and after being unlucky with the safety car, Piastri dropped down to 4th as the 2 drivers finished in that order.

2 British drivers on the podium at Silverstone

Lando Norris crossed the line at second for a home podium but he was also joined by fellow Brit Lewis Hamilton as the 2 drivers went on the podium for the first time since 1999 that 2 British drivers were on the British Grand Prix podium.

Where has this Williams pace come from?!

Alexander Albon surprised everyone as he featured in the top 3 of every practice session and Logan Sargeant even finished in the top 5 in FP2. The pace didn’t show as much in qualifying as Albon qualified 8th and Sargeant qualified 14th.
