Lewis Hamilton Rejects Ferrari

Reports earlier this year linked 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton with Ferrari and these rumours may have been confirmed as it has now been revealed Hamilton rejected the iconic Italian team.

Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes contract expires at the end of this year and now looks set for a contract renewal with his team with both Hamilton and team boss Toto Wolff confirming this. However, this wasn't the case earlier this year as Hamilton was linked with a move to Ferrari.

According to Italian journalist Leo Turrini, Ferrari president John Elkann offered Hamilton a contract with his team. In Turrini's blog, he wrote "Hamilton has been contacted personally by Elkann. I understand he politely replied no thanks. And you can understand it (unfortunately)."

Furthermore, journalist Michael Schmidt told the German website Auto Motor und Sport that Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur also contacted Hamilton about a move to Ferrari, "Vasseur is rumoured to have made Hamilton an offer, I won't deny it. I think Vasseur knows well that Lewis is not going anywhere, but he also has to make sure that Ferrari shows some dynamism."

Although, Ferrari denied making any contract offers to Lewis Hamilton earlier this year during the time of the rumours.
